Life is certainly challenging these days. We are navigating the pain of racism, social isolation, fear of COVID-19, and changes to our work and personal relationships. Many of us are experiencing the trauma of the virus' impact on our health and the well-being of our loved ones. Being encouraged to stay indoors is deeply affecting our sense of community and ability to connect in person and experience nature. And families are experiencing unprecedented challenges of home schooling, non-stop togetherness, and underlying tensions coming to the fore. For the time being, anxieties are high and the need for help greater than ever.
The increased experience of isolation has been present pre-COVID-19, despite the rush of social media and constant contact. There's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and unlimited access to all of the information we could possibly need. So why do we need therapy? Many feel at sea despite all of the "connection" tools available to us. And many have found that therapy helps chart a path back to our true selves.
By applying Relational Therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing and current relationship blocks, behavioral patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If there is trauma holding you back, my work as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner will help unlock those stuck places and facilitate healing. If you are seeking couples therapy, my training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy will help remove blocks to communication, restore your connection to each other and find joy again.
If you're looking for support and guidance through this very challenging time or are just ready to shift your life in a new direction, I look forward to working with you to help you return to your strengths and achieve your goals.
